With a diverse background in the electricity sector, Almo has lead work in engineering consulting, client-side project engineering and management, contractor project management, and the regulatory sector. Almo’s experience includes assisting clients with bespoke solutions for challenging design problems, gaining exposure to electricity design and project management across Aotearoa New Zealand.

Almo thrives on challenging the status quo and ensuring that the best decisions are made for infrastructure and energy assets. He was a key member of the initial team at Ventia (previously Broadspectrum), which built the capability for Ventia to deliver work on Vector’s capital works panel. At the Electricity Authority, he played a significant role in policy work for the New Zealand electricity hedge market, with a highlight being the policy design and procurement of the first commercial market-making service provider for the New Zealand electricity futures market.

Almo’s strength is in leading projects from the design phase through procurement and into construction, commissioning, and handover.
